There was nothing to capture in this wasteland. The leaves were dead, the land was dry. Over each hillside, and plain, steam rose from the smouldering ground. Claws dug deep into the charred waste below him and yet, even still, it was not enough. Lifting his head to the sky he released a bellow which shook any still living thing from its home and sent them running. Waves of fire began to rise from the crevasses of the wasteland, and even further. The purification continued. His scales shimmered in the red and orange light around him and it was at this time he decided that this land of fire would serve as his home.
