Over the unfamiliar mountains to the north the smallest sun began to rise. The fourteenth day beginning as an endless reminder of the barren wasteland they had crashed on to. The cavern had been dark and echoed with voices of survivors, but this expanse of land was worse. Her eyes blurred uncontrollably & she rubbed them with a weak, pale hand. What would happen to her? How could she stay awake into the hibernation months? But if she left herself sleep now, in this wreckage, with no hive link... then she would die quickly. It was agony to wait, to watch the stillness of time swarm over the world like molasses.
