“You knew all along didn't you?" Daviid asked, slamming his fists against the Core shield.

Hart put her hands on the foggy field, "Would you have helped me come here if you'd have known? Been so selfish?"

"You can't ask me that!" He yelled as the rice white light began to mist around Hart.

"This was always the future, Daviid. Always how it ends" she said, stepping back from the glass.

The chamber opened around her, exhaling steam from the plugs on the outer centre.

"Hart! There has to be another way!" Daviid yelled, pounding on the Core shield, tears pouring from his eyes. "Please don't go," he whispered.

She turned around, standing in the centre of The Core, "If I don't do this there will be nothing. Uhma will die, you will die, Achetelone, Weiland, Mara... all dead."

Daviid rested his head on the Core shield, closing his eyes, sobbing, "Hart..."

The locks around The Core wheezed closed again & the light of Uhma swirled around Hart as her body absorbed the Core. Rending the flesh from her muscles, the muscle from bone, & bone into dust, then back again. There was no pain as the life of all creation created all life.
